We recognise the hazards and risk our workforce and others are exposed to as a result of our work. Our health and safety management system provides us with the means to regulate health and safety throughout our operations in an efficient and effective way.
In this article, we state our objectives and commitment to managing health and safety at Aurinko Construction Services. We also describe our general health and safety arrangements and indicate how our policy is implemented. We recognise our ability to manage our business in a manner that will effectively conserve and utilise our resources.
Consistent with these beliefs, we shall endeavour to:
- Take health and safety into account when planning all projects.
- Ensure that optimum safety standards are complied with when handling, storing and transporting articles and substances
- Ensure that employees are provided with suitable and sufficient information, instruction, training and where necessary, supervision to enable them work safely.
- Ensure that all employees and subcontractors comply with relevant local legislation and cooperate with those responsible for enforcing it
- Maintain a system for the recording and investigation of all incidents
- Ensure that the responsibilities of employees and subcontractors with regard to health and safety are specified clearly in writing.
With our on-site policy in particular, we
- Ensure that where its use is identified by risk assessment, personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and used.
- Ensure that all adequate arrangements and facilities for welfare and first aid are provided
- Ensure that high standards of housekeeping are maintained throughout all our premises and in premises where we are working, and that means of access and egress are safe.
- Hold managers and Supervisors at all levels accountable for the safety performance of their operations.
- Recognise accident prevention as an achievable integral part of all operational activities and not a separate program.
- Provide professional personnel to support the safety and health program and monitor performance.
- Provide necessary instruction and protective equipment measures, when hazardous work must be performed.
It is our belief that all accidents occur as a result of specific cause(s) and are therefore preventable.
With Health and Safety, our prime objective is to continue our business activities in a safe and effective manner, with a strong emphasis on prevention through the identification, elimination and control of hazards and risks. Aurinko Construction regularly conducts an information campaign to remind our staff of their role and responsibilities toward preserving a healthy and safe environment
